Adult Precision Airguns

Gamo makes some of the best Adult airguns around a get to this point review.

Big Cat GamoThe Big Cat 1200 is a serious shooter for all people that love to plink or hunt. Here is why I like it. It begins with the design I can see the stock material is able to shoot a .177 caliber which is up there with Beeman and the other makers of the real grade air rifle as I call it. There are other quality items that I like about this one. The scope is a standard 4X32 which allows for smooth sighting of your target in all the standard conditions in the field or at the range. It fits with rings on to the grooves along the receiver. Nice sturdy fit. The trigger pull is simple and minimal recoil from the receiver and trigger mounting system. All around this air rifle is promoted for it's competitive pricing around $150 to $600 for this model in US dollars. The package is great for an out of the box airgun. Other airguns that are aimed for the adult market can also be a pleasure to use. Checking on the other models I came across some that were also beneficial to a airgun shooter.

The R1 from Beeman, a air rifle that is one of the top five

This is the workhorse from the Beeman adult airguns. The high power and the solid construction are felt from the beginning that you lay your hands on this air rifle. My first time using one of these was in Western Montana. A friend and I were target practicing on some thirty yard paper targets. He brought it along in a case. I carried it out of the car and could feel that it was heavier by a few pounds than my light weight Daisy unit.
Compared to the Big Cat 1200 series Gamo it has several difference in it's major characteristics. It weighs about three pounds more the rating for the 1200 is 6.4 and this R1 standard is 8.4 pounds. I noticed that the weight felt more balanced in the overall layout of the stock and barrel on this Beeman. The Gamo shoots at a rate of 1200 fps while the r1 standard model at 950. While velocity ratings are significantly different the shooting ability of both airguns is remarkable. One must also remember factors in ammunition can cause the feet per second ratio to change do to conditions. The difference could effect a range target if you are going for a tight group at a distance of say 100 yards. This is not what I was shooting at when I used the one air rifle. It can safely be said that either rifle can match up head to head with any level of airgun shooters experience. I liked them both. The R1 trigger is crisp and has finer machined feel to it when pulled. And is adjustable. The .177 caliber shoots with great accuracy. Beeman has certain touches that make it a lasting and durable airgun that is enjoyed by generations.

Adult precision airguns do have certain shooting characteristic that mean a lot to the airgun enthusiast. I find these two models to be a good way to gauge your airguns within the range of price and features. I did like the design of the Gamo model but the automatic safety on the R1 Beeman is something that I prefer when using a high powered adult airgun. Both of these are good air guns that can bring a person years of shooting pleasure.
