Big Cat Gamo The Big Cat 1200 is a serious shooter for all people that love to plink or hunt. Here is why I like it. It begins with the design I can see the stock material is able to shoot a .177 caliber which is up there with Beeman and the other makers of the real grade air rifle as I call it. There are other quality items that I like about this one. The scope is a standard 4X32 which allows for smooth sighting of your target in all the standard conditions in the field or at the range. It fits with rings on to the grooves along the receiver. Nice sturdy fit. The trigger pull is simple and minimal recoil from the receiver and trigger mounting system. All around this air rifle is promoted for it's competitive pricing around $150 to $600 for this model in US dollars. The package is great for an out of the box airgun. Other airguns that are aimed for the adult market can also be a pleasure to use. Checking on the other models I came across some that were also beneficial to a airgun shooter.

How to select a good air rifle scope.

First get the idea of your target in the scope

If you are shooting a target at under twenty feet a low power simple airgun scope will work good. These are designed for the reverse recoil of spring action airguns. Some brands that are popular are BSA, Leapers, RWS, and Bushnell. These have their own unique advantages. And are suited for each type of distance shooting.

For this writing I will discuss the fixed scope. It will have simple adjustment knobs for zeroing your target. The word zero means being able to hit at the center of the target. The knobs are located towards the midpoint of the scope. This type of scope is straight forward. It requires that the target shooter be able to see clear to the target. This is achieved by checking the site for blemishes before you mount it to your airgun. And observing your paper target and the surroundings to make sure that you have a safe target to site your scope on.
Scope sights like this one are popular among airgunners. Good scopes get the last bit of accuracy from a gun. They make siting errors easier to forgive. Seeing the sight and target clearly at the same time is a great aid to accurate shooting. We will bring you updates on the latest scopes for airguns in the future.
